Taking the next step
Attend our free information session
If you are considering weight loss surgery, we require you to attend one of our free information sessions prior to making an appointment with our surgical staff.
These on-line sessions include a presentation by our surgical staff on the causes and complications of morbid obesity as well as the types of weight loss surgeries.
View dates for the next information session.
Complete your patient profile
Northern Arizona Healthcare created a Patient Profile you can use to record every visit you make to a healthcare professional for obesity-related issues as well as any visits to supervised weight loss programs.
This profile can help you document other weight loss attempts made through diet centers and fitness club memberships. Be sure to keep good records, including receipts.
When you decide to have surgery, your bariatric surgeon will also need a copy of your completed profile.
Our support group is open to all pre-op and post-op bariatric surgery patients, regardless of where they've had surgery. Each meeting includes a half-hour education session led by one of our staff members, followed by an hour-long interactive open discussion and question-and-answer session.
The Bariatric Surgery Weight Loss Support Group meets the first Wednesday of each month from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at Flagstaff Medical Center's Weight Management Clinic Lobby. Contact the clinic at 928-214-3737 for more information.
We encourage you to attend at least one support group before you schedule surgery.
We have a psychologist and dietitian at the support groups to assist you with any concerns.
