The Children’s Health Center at NAH receives $50K donation from Arizona Complete Health

A check for $50,000 is presented to Northern Arizona Healthcare's Children’s Health Center

The Children’s Health Center (CHC) at Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) recently received a $50,000 donation from Arizona Complete Health. The NAH Office of Philanthropy played a pivotal part in securing the grant for the CHC. The donation will be used to install a shade structure for the adaptive playground that assists with rehabilitation.

In 2024, Arizona Complete Health awarded 42 organizations statewide with capital grants that help drive positive health outcomes and create more equitable access to services. The CHC at NAH was awarded $50,000 to install a shade structure for the adaptive playground that assists with rehabilitation. This playground allows children with various physical and developmental disabilities to be outside and engage in stimulating activities. Flagstaff possesses unique weather challenges, and CHC’s adaptive playground is unusable in winter due to snow and ice and often during other times of year due to extreme sun exposure or rain. The installation of a shade structure will allow the adaptive playground to be used year-round.

“We are so appreciative of the generous donation from Arizona Complete Health and we are looking forward to completing the installation of the shade structure for our playground,” said CHC Practice Manager, Anthony Gobe. “This donation wouldn’t have been possible without the tireless efforts of our team and NAH’s Office of Philanthropy putting together the grant application, of which we are so thankful for. CHC is important to so many members of our community and we can’t wait to see big smiles on the children’s faces when they are able to use the adaptive playground throughout the entire year, thanks to this new shade structure,” Gobe added.
