RJ Reed, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) at Flagstaff Medical Center (FMC), has been awarded the Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) 2024 Greg Cox Advanced Practice Provider (APP) of the Year in Flagstaff. He is recognized for his amazing attitude, respect for colleagues and the skilled, compassionate care he provides to his patients. APPs are an essential part of any patient’s care team, as they work seamlessly with physicians and other members of the care team to ensure that each patient receives the best care possible.
This is the sixth year NAH is recognizing APPs. The recipients are nominated by colleagues and must exemplify the NAH values of doing amazing work, showing compassion, being better together, building community and respecting differences.
Reed’s colleagues who nominated him said he is a great leader and an excellent CRNA. He is well respected by all those he works with and always goes above and beyond for his patients, never shying away from tough operating room cases.
The Greg Cox APP of the Year Award aims to select providers who not only excel at patient care, but who go above and beyond when it comes to patient safety and quality. It also recognizes providers who are engaged members of the community and are leaders and role models within the organization.
“RJ has been such an invaluable member of the team at FMC. People know him for working hard and supporting his colleagues. We are so pleased that we are able to honor his hard work and dedication,” said Dave Cheney, CEO of Northern Arizona Healthcare. “APPs are such an essential part of any patient’s care team, and we believe it is important to recognize these members of Team NAH who are committed to working tirelessly with the community each day,” Cheney added.
In 2023, the FMC APP of the Year Award was renamed the Greg Cox APP of the Year Award to commemorate the lasting legacy of Greg Cox, PA-C. Cox was posthumously awarded the FMC 2023 APP of the Year Award, and remembered by his colleagues for inspiring and supporting them during their careers and for making their lives better with his friendship.
