
Rachel Levitan, MD
Bio
Rachel Levitan, MD, is a board-certified emergency medicine physician and medical toxicologist at Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH), where she serves as the interim chief medical officer on the Medical Executive Committee at both Flagstaff Medical Center (FMC) and Verde Valley Medical Center (VVMC). Dr. Levitan has held a wide range of leadership roles over the years, including department chair of emergency medicine and chief of staff. She is also the past president of FMC’s Medical Executive Committee. Before joining NAH, she worked for Flagstaff Emergency Physicians.
While Dr. Levitan is originally from Flagstaff, she earned her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed her residency at Maricopa County Medical Center. She also completed a toxicology fellowship at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center and Phoenix Children’s Hospital. In addition to her medical degree, Dr. Levitan earned degrees in chemistry and French from Pitzer College and a master’s degree from the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management.
