Professional Bio

Lori A. Green, BSN, MSN, RN, became the chief nursing officer of Northern Arizona Healthcare’s Verde Valley Medical Center in 2016. Lori joined VVMC in 2005 as clinical director for Intensive Care Unit, Telemetry, Dialysis, Vascular Access, and Telemetry Deprtment among other areas. In 2013, she was promoted to director of patient care services, adding medical surgical, respiratory therapy, diabetic and wound nursing, sleep lab and neuro diagnostic oversight to her role.

Lori’s nursing career began in general intensive care unit where she worked as a staff nurse, caring for cardiac patients at Kirksville Osteopathic Medical Center, a rural community teaching hospital in Kirksville, MO. She then advanced to the role of head nurse in general surgery/gynecology and coronary intensive care at Saint Louis University Hospital in Saint Louis.

In 1992, Lori took on her first director position leading ambulatory, or outpatient, and surgical services at Memorial Community Hospital in Jefferson City, MO and went on to become clinical director of St. Joseph’s Health Center, part of Sisters of St. Mary Health Care, in St. Louis where she was responsible for the leadership, strategic planning, patient experience and daily operations for several clinical departments. At DePaul Health Center she worked with a Human Factors group IDEO and spearheaded a major renovation project that integrated cutting-edge technology and patient experience with the patient care delivery model.

Lori earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Northeast Missouri State University, now Truman State University, in Kirksville, MO She earned her master’s degree in nursing from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, graduating with honors. She is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
