Dixie Callan is a physical therapist in the EntireCare Rehab & Sports Medicine Department of Northern Arizona Healthcare. She is located at Flagstaff Medical Center.
Expertise and Special Interests
Dixie specializes in treating women’s health concerns, including pelvic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, incontinence, prolapses and conditions that accompany pregnancy and the post-partum period. She performs triggerpoint dry needling to release trigger points; vestibular treatment for benign paroxysmal positional vertigo; and orthopedics and manual therapy to treat post-surgical pain, trauma, sports injuries, headaches and spinal dysfunction. She has worked in the field of physical therapy since 2011. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Education and Certifications
Dixie earned a bachelor’s in health science at the University of Arizona in Tucson,Ariz.; and a doctorate of physical therapy at Creighton University
in Omaha, Neb.
Philosophy
Dixie became a physical therapist to help change people’s lives for the better; to spend time with patients and develop a relationship with them.This
allows her to create a personal connection with each patient that, at times, can have just as much of an impact as the therapeutic interventions do.
