Charlie Agee, MD
Professional Bio
Charlie Agee, MD, was elected to the Northern Arizona Healthcare Board of Directors in 2021 and resides in Paradise Valley.
Dr. Agee is a healthcare consultant who has worked with large systems as well as consulting firms. He was a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix, where he mentored and worked closely with medical students. In his previous position as Vice President, Care Management and Chief Medical Officer, Academic Delivery for a large integrated health system based in Phoenix, Dr. Agee provided leadership and oversight for the disciplined pursuit of clinical excellence and had a key role in linking evidence and consensus-driven medicine with clinical operations to ensure that safe, reliable care was delivered. He worked to develop innovative models of care that deliver value and maximize patient wellness.
He also led the integration of academic medicine into a community delivery organization with Banner’s acquisition of the University of Arizona Health Network. Dr. Agee also served as Vice President of Clinical Stewardship directing efforts in case management, clinical supply chain management, physician care coordination and clinical revenue integrity – areas focused on innovating patient care and creating efficiency across the organization. Additionally, he was the Regional Chief Medical Officer overseeing five CMOs and facilities in the Arizona West Region and served on the board of Banner CORE Center for Orthopedics. During his 18-year career in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Agee served as Chief of Staff for Banner Thunderbird Medical Center.
Dr. Agee is a graduate of the University of Arizona, attended medical school at the University of Washington in Seattle and completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix. He has life fellow status with over 25 years as a fellow with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
