Professional Bio
Carrie Perkins is a physical therapist assistant in the EntireCare Rehab and Sports Medicine department of Northern Arizona Healthcare. She is located at Verde Valley Medical Center.
Expertise and Special Interests
Carrie has been working in the field of physical therapy since 1986. She interacts with the physical therapists in the development and implementation of treatment plans for patients with injuries and other physical challenges. Carrie specializes in working with patients of all ages in the areas of:
- Shoulder impairment, both before and after surgery
- Orthopedics, including hip and knee replacement
- Lymphedema
- General weakness and decreased physical fitness
- Chronic pain
- Wound care
- Soft tissue injury
- Neurological challenges
Education and Certifications
Carrie received an associate’s as a physical therapist assistant at Hocking College, Nelsonville, Ohio. She is certified as a clinical instructor through the American Physical TherapyAssociation, and taught four years in a physical therapist assistant program at Mohave Community College, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.
Philosophy
Carrie’s philosophy is to first and foremost pay attention to her patients. She uses their feedback to make changes in the treatment plan to provide excellent care and help individuals achieve their goals.
