Bonnie K. Pond, O.T.R/L, is a licensed, registered occupational therapist in the EntireCare Rehab & Sports Medicine department of Northern Arizona Healthcare. She is located at Verde Valley Medical Center.
Expertise and Special Interests
Bonnie specializes in pelvic floor rehabilitation, or PFR, for men, women and children. She is especially inspired by new technology and Biofeedback applications in rehabilitation. Some of the conditions Bonnie treats include:
- Neurological disorders.
- Upper extremity orthopedic impairments; acute or chronic in nature.
- Cancer related impairments and post-surgical complications.
- Urinary and fecal incontinence, bedwetting and pelvic floor dysfunction.
- Cognitive dysfunction, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
- Burns.
- Developmental disorders or delays.
- Immune disorders.
- Visual disorders, vision loss and low vision.
Education and Certification
Bonnie earned a bachelor’s in occupational therapy with a specialization in assistive technology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She has been in practice since 1993.
Philosophy
Bonnie believes in showing a caring and positive attitude to each person she encounters. Bonnie has lived the roles of patient, caregiver, family member, parent, spouse, provider and friend, and believes that experiencing loss, disease, grief and accomplishment in each of these roles allows her to have a greater appreciation for supporting and listening to others.
