Northern Arizona Healthcare’s (NAH) Children’s Health Center recently received a $100,000 donation, courtesy of Flagstaff-based medical device production equipment manufacturer, Machine Solutions. The donation will benefit Children’s Health Center’s Inspire program, which is a lifestyle management program dedicated to childhood obesity and mental health.
“We are so appreciative of the generous donation from Machine Solutions and we are looking forward to continuing this partnership throughout the years,” said Keith Garrison of Children’s Health Center. “It is such a great thing when members of the community donate to these programs that benefit pediatric patients, and we know this gift will help so many children.”
Inspire provides nutrition education for children and their families through information and resources about diet, cooking, and exercise. Inspire assists with the management of obesity, anxiety, depression, disordered eating, orthopedic issues, and all adolescent lifestyle risk factors. The program is meant to enrich and improve participants’ skills and give them tools for healthier lives now and as they grow into adulthood. All Inspire patients must have a diagnosis that a lifestyle medicine program is imperative for the success of their medical treatment plan.
