NAH welcomes new primary care providers to Flagstaff

Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) today announced Corinne Halsted, DO, and Claire Veltkamp, FNP, have joined the NAH Medical Group as new primary care providers in Flagstaff.  Veltkamp will support the primary care practice by seeing patients who need follow-up care after they’ve been discharged from the hospital, as well as patients who may need same-day care for acute health needs.

Dr. Halsted is board certified in Family Medicine, a certification from the American Board of Family Medicine in which doctors have completed three years of training at an accredited family medicine residency program among other stringent criteria. Dr. Halsted joins NAH from Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Veltkamp has worked in Flagstaff for four years as an FNP in primary care and urgent care, and joined NAH from North Country HealthCare. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners – Family Practice and Adult Gerontology. A certification in family practice prepares recipients to care for patients of any age throughout their lifespan and a certification in adult gerontology focuses on the care and treatment of adults from later adulthood to end of life.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Halsted and Claire Veltkamp to our primary care practice in Flagstaff,” said NAHMG President Pasquale Bernardi, MD. “We know that Dr. Halsted and Claire both share NAH’s commitment to delivering high-quality care to every patient, every time. We are excited to grow our group of primary care providers, especially as we continue to build on NAH’s commitment of delivering exceptional care close to home for Flagstaff-area residents,” Dr. Bernardi added.

Dr. Halsted earned her medical degree from Campbell University of Osteopathic Medicine in North Carolina and her undergraduate degree in health management and policy from St. Louis University in Missouri. Veltkamp earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Michigan in Flint.

NAH Medical Group in Flagstaff (NAHMG) services are designed to improve health by providing individuals and their families with integrated care close to home.
