Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) announced that Rangadham Nagarakanti, MD, FACC, FHRS, has joined the Cardiovascular Institute in Cottonwood at Verde Valley Medical Center (VVMC). Dr. Nagarakanti is a cardiac electrophysiologist and specializes in evaluation, management and treatment of heart rhythm problems.
“We are honored to have the talents of Dr. Nagarakanti joining our cardiovascular team in Cottonwood,” said Lisa DeRosa, administrator for the NAH Cardiovascular Institute.
“With the addition of Dr. Nagarakanti, we are able to achieve our mission of providing the very best in advanced care for all cardiovascular patients in the Verde Valley.”
As a cardiologist specializing in the study of the heart’s electrical functions, Dr. Nagarakanti believes there are many options to treat arrhythmia, depending on a patient’s circumstances. He has been involved in clinical research and development of new therapies for preventing the most common causes of stroke and prevalent heart rhythm problems.
Dr. Nagarakanti earned his medical degree from Bangalore University in India and completed his residency in internal medicine at Jefferson Abington Memorial Hospital in Pennsylvania. He also completed a fellowship in cardiology at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, as well as a fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. He is board certified in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
NAH has prioritized recruiting new providers in northern Arizona, and will continue to introduce additional providers as part of its commitment to delivering exceptional care for the communities it serves. This will ensure that residents of Verde Valley can remain in their communities to receive the best cardiovascular care.
