The Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) Orthopedic Surgery Center was recently named one of the best Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC) for orthopedics and spine by U.S. News & World Report. While the surgery center, located in Flagstaff, specializes in orthopedic surgery and pain management, any outpatient surgery can be performed there.
This rating has put the NAH Orthopedic Surgery Center (NAHOSC) in the top 1% of ASCs in Arizona, with only 10 out of the 212 ASCs in Arizona receiving the “High Performing” rating. NAH’s Orthopedic Surgery Center was the only ASC to be named on the report from northern Arizona.
This is the first year that the US News & World Report has ranked ASCs across the country. ASCs were evaluated based entirely on objective, risk-adjusted measures of their patients’ outcomes, including how successfully they avoided complications, ER visits, unplanned hospitalizations and other undesirable outcomes.
“We are thrilled to be recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top ranked ASCs in Arizona,” said Matt Kraemer, administrator for the NAH Orthopedic & Spine Institute. “Our knowledgeable orthopedic staff always provide high quality care for patients. We are always committed to giving our community exceptional orthopedic care, and I’m proud to see our staff get the recognition that they deserve,” Kraemer added.
U.S. News & World Report awarded the designation of “Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers” to the highest-rated surgical centers that satisfy U.S. News’ statistical assessment of performance, and fewer than 15% of evaluated facilities across the country earned a “High Performing” rating.
ASCs are freestanding outpatient health care facilities that specialize in providing same-day surgical and diagnostic procedures. These facilities offer a range of outpatient services, such as colonoscopies; hip and knee replacements; and cataract surgery – procedures that do not require an overnight stay, allowing patients to safely and quickly return to their daily activities.
NAH’s experienced care team, which has performed thousands of successful spine and joint surgeries, offers a full range of orthopedic services. To learn more about orthopedic services at NAH, please visit .
