Karina Magsino Jonusas, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant with Northern Arizona Healthcare’s Verde Valley Medical Clinic – Sedona.
Q: What is your care philosophy?
A: I believe in compassion for all humankind. I believe in a holistic approach to medicine.
Q: What do you want your patients to know about you?
A: I am a big advocate for a healthy diet and exercise. I speak English and Spanish.
Q: What do you enjoy about being in the field of medicine?
A: I love helping people. I love studying the human body and seeing how anything and everything affect us.
Q: Tell us about your specialty.
A: I decided to return to internal medicine because preventative medicine is key in avoiding diseases before they begin, and living a healthier life. We must educate our community and take care of each other.
Q: Does your scope of practice include holistic/integrative medicine?
A: Yes, I strongly believe living a healthy life includes having both a healthy body and mind. This can be achieved by eating a proper diet; exercising the mind and body through yoga, meditation and physical activity; and practicing preventative medicine.
Q: What are the areas of expertise you are most excited about bringing to NAH?
A: I have a strong background in pulmonary and critical care medicine. I am most excited about bringing overall wellness and awareness to the community.
Q: What do patients tell you they appreciate about you?
A: They tell me that I am personable; compassionate; and take the time to listen and discuss.
Q: Why did you choose to relocate here?
A: To start living the dream, instead of dreaming the dream. I came here to reconnect with nature and to build a sense of community where personal human interaction is still highly valued. I came to focus on the more important things in life, which is love and family.
“I love helping people. I love studying the human body and seeing how all things affect us.”
