Special confidentiality patients

Media inquiries regarding “special confidentiality” patients

  • As defined by HIPAA, if a patient has requested “special confidentiality” – opting out of being listed in the facility’s patient directory – NAH cannot release any information about the patient, including confirming the patient’s presence at the facility.
  • NAH cannot release any information to the media on patients undergoing treatment in our Behavioral Health unit. These patients will always be classified as special confidentiality.
  • NAH cannot release any information to the media on patients undergoing treatment in our Safe Child unit. These patients will always be classified as special confidentiality.
  • NAH cannot release any information to the media on patients undergoing treatment for alcohol or substance abuse.
