It’s time to run (or walk) to benefit Northern Arizona Healthcare’s Children’s Health Center. The 44th annual Machine Solutions Run & Walk virtual race is scheduled for Saturday, August 6, at Fort Tuthill County Park in Flagstaff. The run, sponsored by Machine Solutions, a Flagstaff-based medical device production equipment manufacturer, includes a 10K, 5K, or 2K option.
“We are excited to have Machine Solutions host the Run & Walk for Kids, which will benefit so many children in the local community,” said NAH’s Chief Philanthropy Officer Larry Kushner. “We are thankful for the generosity from our wonderful community partners who are inspired to donate, knowing these dollars will benefit pediatric patients at the Children’s Health Center.”
Race day kicks off at 7:50 a.m. with the cherished Kid’s Dash, followed by distances of 10K, 5K and 2K. Races will conclude by 11 a.m. Race participants also may choose to participate virtually by running on their own at any time between July 23 and August 6, and then logging their results online.
Registration fees vary depending on the type of run. Early bird pricing is in effect until July 18 with $5 off the entry fee. People can register here.
By registering for the run, this tax-deductible donation will help support the patients of the Children’s Health Center to provide the necessary therapy and specialty equipment needed as well as the Children’s Rehabilitation Services, Inspire Program, Safe Child, the child abuse examination/interview clinic, and other pediatric subspecialty clinics and therapies. For many patients, a therapy appointment can cost up to $75.
NAH’s Office of Philanthropy also is working with local businesses to arrange race sponsorships that will support the Children’s Health Center. In addition to Machine Solutions as the title sponsor, other sponsors include:
- Around the Mountain Pediatric Dentistry
- Cerner
- Swire Coca-Cola
- Findlay Toyota Flagstaff
- Health Choice of Blue Cross Blue Shield
- The Narbha Institute
