Guardian Air Communication Center

The communication center is staffed 24 hours a day with two qualified communication specialists. We arrange critical care transports for eight different bases throughout Northern Arizona. Our fleet includes ten helicopters and one fixed wing aircraft. Our center is unique in that we are one of only a handful of flight companies with a dedicated internal communication center.

The communication center meets all CAMTS and FAA regulations and is located in Flagstaff, Ariz. It can take up to 20 phone calls to arrange one critical care transport.

Our Guardian Air communication team members use the latest technology to provide the most efficient service with a focus on safety. Ensuring our communication specialists have state-of-the-art equipment and training is key to successful patient transports. Our communication center uses the satellite Global Positioning System, or GPS, to monitor all transports via SkyConnect. All transport requests are entered and tracked in a computer to aided dispatch (Flight Vector) system specially designed for flight medical transport.

Using computer-driven algorithmic methodology, the communication specialists can quickly determine which aircraft is closest and most appropriate to the scene or facility for immediate dispatch. This translates into doing what is best for the patient on every transport.
