Becoming a volunteer
By volunteering at Valley View Care, you can help ease the end-of-life transition for our patients – from running errands to actively listening.
Volunteer assignments will vary depending on the needs of the patient and family, and the availability of each assigned volunteer.
Before you become a volunteer in any capacity, whether helping a family, working in the office or supporting our fundraising efforts, you'll need to complete our application process and core training.
To begin the application process, please contact Valley View Care at 928-634-1700.
Making a difference with your time
As a family support volunteer, you can help patients and their families by:
- Maintaining regular contact with the patient and family through visits and by telephone.
- Providing respite care for an at-home patient during a caregiver’s brief absences.
- Helping problem-solve by listening, reflecting and summarizing, but not by giving advice.
- Supporting families in bereavement.
