Denise Gomolak, FNP-C, is a family nurse practitioner with Northern Arizona Healthcare Medical Group − Flagstaff.

Expertise and Special Interests

Denise’s expertise is in managing chronic diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and asthma. She began practicing nursing in 1992.

Education and Certification

Denise earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Penn State University in State College, Pa., and her master’s degree in nursing from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Ariz. She also did a two-year study in somatic psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpenteria, Calif. She is board-certified in Family Practice by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.


Denise’s philosophy of health and wellness is holistic: We can only treat chronic physical symptoms when we consider the mental and spiritual state of an individual. She approaches healthcare from a health-illness continuum where chronic illness can be used as an instrument of transformation, or help one become more of oneself, as opposed to viewing health as merely the absence of disease.
