Q&A with new orthopedic surgeon Adam Schneider, MD

Adam Schneider, MD

Adam Schneider, MD, orthopedic surgeon, recently joined Northern Arizona Healthcare’s Verde Valley Medical Clinic – Orthopedics in Cottonwood.

Q: What is your care philosophy?

A: To educate and empathize with patients so they can make informed decisions about their health. I also treat them like family.

Q: What do you enjoy about the field of medicine?

A: There's never a dull moment. I enjoy getting to meet a lot of enriching people.

Q: Tell us about your specialty. What drew you to it and what keeps you in it?

A: I'm a general orthopedic surgeon with an interest in hand and wrist surgery. Orthopedics is very goal-oriented - people usually have a specific problem that can be improved. Plus, I get to use power tools in surgery.

Q: What do patients tell you they appreciate about you?

A: My excellent bedside manner, sense of humor and directness.

Q: What are some achievements or recognitions you're the most proud of?

A: Baylor College of Medicine Excellence in Teaching Award; and Baylor College of Medicine Hugh Tullos Award for excellence in orthopedic research.

Q: Why did you choose to relocate to the Verde Valley?

A: The setup is exactly how I would design my ideal practice, plus it's located in an outdoor paradise. Northern Arizona Healthcare presented me with a flattering and irresistible invitation to become a part of a very collegial family.
