Northern Arizona Healthcare hospitals designated 5 stars

Recent rankings put Northern Arizona Healthcare hospitals in the top 7 percent of hospitals in the country and the state of Arizona. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid released new rankings that rate both Flagstaff Medical Center and Verde Valley Medical as 5 stars, the highest ranking available.

Recent rankings put Northern Arizona Healthcare hospitals in the top 7 percent of hospitals in the country and the state of Arizona. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid released new rankings that rate both Flagstaff Medical Center and Verde Valley Medical as 5 stars, the highest ranking available.

FMC and VVMC join Mayo Clinic Hospital and Scottsdale Thompson Peak Medical Center as the only four hospitals in Arizona to receive a 5-star ranking. VVMC received this designation in 2018 as well, one of seven in Arizona at that time.

Ratings are based on the following measures:

  • Safety of care.
  • Readmission.
  • Patient experience.
  • Effectiveness of care.
  • Timeliness of care.
  • Efficient use of medical imaging.
  • Mortality.
