Infectious Diseases physician addresses concern over the increased flu cases in Northern Arizona

In a recent interview, Joel Terriquez, MD, medical director of Infectious Diseases and Prevention for Northern Arizona Healthcare, answered questions regarding the recent increase in flu cases affecting Northern Arizona.

To reduce the risk of influenza transmission in the hospital, NAH requires its employees, independent practitioners, volunteers and others affiliated with the hospital get a flu vaccination or be granted an exemption for medical or religious reasons.

NAH also encourages friends and family members to refrain from visiting patients in the hospital if they are experiencing flu-like symptoms.

The hospital is doing its best to maximize its capabilities.
