Baby Elena Pond, daughter of Letitica Mussler and Glenn Pond of Ashfork, was born at 12:47 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 1, making her the first baby born at Flagstaff Medical Center. Baby Pond weighs 7 pounds and measures 20 and a half inches long. This is Mussler and Pond’s second daughter.
We’re just happy that she’s here and healthy.

Arabella Barbara-Rose Martinez, daughter of Vanessa Martinez of Cottonwood, was born at 10:04 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 1, making her the first baby born at Verde Valley Medical Center in the new year. Baby Martinez weighs 6 pounds, 7 ounces and measures 18 inches long.
She is the definition of love.
